We’re the team behind the name. We’ve dedicated our lives to soccer and started our company to cultivate a love of the sport through positive, mindful coaching and age-appropriate physical conditioning.

Here’s a little about us.

Abe Torres, Founder and CEO

I’m a former semi-pro-turned-coach and have served as Director for a number of competitive clubs in Northern California for the last 15 years.

I hold two certifications from the Positive Coaching Alliance (Sport Parent and Goal Coach) and earned my coaching C License diploma from Intituto Brasileiro de Futbol. 

When I’m not playing soccer, coaching soccer, watching soccer (or talking your ear off about soccer?), you can catch me at an NSCAA, U.S. Youth Soccer, or United Soccer Coaches of America annual convention, or keeping my skills sharp at a training development clinic. What can I say? I love learning. And soccer.

Valerie Torres, Co-Founder and COO

I’ve never actually played soccer, but Abe’s passion for the game is infectious (in the best way possible). He simplified the game for me in a way that even someone without any experience could find the same depth of passion. That was 20 years ago.

I’ve spent most of my career in the banking industry, but I’ve been fortunate to apply the discipline, structure, and teamwork I learned in those roles to develop the Pure Potential Soccer brand from the ground up.

Today, I’m living the Napa Valley dream by running our business while working in hospitality at the Sleeping Giant Winery in Los Carneros region and becoming even more obsessed with creating amazing experiences for our clients, customers, and students.
